"Jen recently helped to organize a family holiday for us and as a result it was just perfect! She went above and beyond in terms of her service, the organization and all the lovely touches as well (E.g. flowers and a gift on arrival!). I would definitely recommend Jen and Good Living Asia, it makes a huge difference having someone on the ground there who knows the local environs and who can ensure everything is taken care of before your arrival. Thank you!"
"I happened to contact Jen Tighe with regards to one of her listings (a possible wedding venue for my sister and her fiancé) on The Honeycombers Bali. Since our first correspondence Jen has blown me away (to the point I was convinced she was too good to be true!). I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Jen in person, but she is definitely one of a kind! It is rare to find someone who doesn't put their own interests first (especially in the business world), but from the start Jen's resourcefulness, professionalism, punctuality, and eagerness to cater to our every need was highly apparent. I am excited for the launch of GoodLivingAsia (a villa rental company helping visitors find perfect villas in Bali - and making sure they get what they want!) Jen told me: "Our value add is to hold their hands when they are here if they need as we are on the ground." Working with Jen to find my sister's perfect wedding venue was a personal, real, and fulfilling experience. I hope you seek Jen out when you are planning a trip or event in Bali. She is exceptional, and I can't recommend her highly enough!"
"Nothing but 5 stars for GoodlivingAsia! Jen and her team were given the task of organising our company off-site for 40 staff and they did an incredible job. From the luxurious accommodation and amazing dining experiences, to the extra activities like surfing and yoga; our week in Bali was simply fantastic. I highly recommend working with the experienced and professional team at GoodlivingAsia."
"Good Living Asia really helped us navigate the maze of villa options and websites in Bali. Jen asked us exactly what we needed for our large group in terms of layout and took consideration of the number of adults and mix children's ages when making recommendations. Her clear insights into what would work for us saved time and meant we could trust that what she had found would be wonderful. Prior to the trip Jen was in close contact providing recommendations and insights, and options for restaurant bookings. Upon arrival our transport was taken care of, simplifying what can be a very chaotic arrival at the airport, especially with a large group. The toy box for the children was a thoughtful extra touch and was well used through the holiday. I would recommend any family or large group consider GoodLiving Asia when making their plans. Thanks to Jen and the team - you really made a difference."
"My friends and I loved using goodlivingasia for booking our girls weekend. Jen took all the work out of having to figure out which villa would be perfect for our needs and budget and made it all really easy. I would highly recommend goodlivingasia to anyone looking to book their next Bali holiday."
"Amazing service, Jen went out of her way to give us advice and answer all our questions on where we should stay and what we should do. Everything from our airport pick up to a lovely bunch of flowers and very welcome toy box was thoroughly appreciated. The villa she helped us choose was perfect, she listened to what we were looking for. I will definitely be using GoodLivingAsia again for our Bali holiday bookings."
    James and Claire,
Kuta & Legian Seminyak & Batu Belig Umalas / Kerobokan Berawa / Canggu Jimbaran
    Umalas / Kerobokan
If you want to be surrounded by rice paddies but still be only fifteen minutes from the action in Seminyak then Umalas is the perfect location. Despite being close to all the top restaurants and bars Umalas this lovely pocket of south Bali still has a bucolic feel. You’ll see farmers tending to their rice paddies and you may even have a cow munching on your grass in the fields in front of your villa.

Umalas is home to much of the French expat community, the benefit of which is that it has some great cafes, bakeries, restaurants and a seriously good ice creamery.
    Jalan Umalas 1
These three fantastic eateries form a triangle on Jalan Umalas 1 and are all within walking distance of each other.

Habitual – This little café possibly does the best breakfast/brunch in all of Bali. You have to try the eggs benedict and the coffee is world standard. They also bake specials daily so you can keep going back to try something new.

Nook – Set right within a lush green rice paddy (bring your camera) this busy warung is brilliant value for money. They do a good selection of local dishes and have a great seafood grill at night time. Even the wine prices are reasonable.

Warung Hotei – This popular warung got so busy that within the first few months of opening they had to renovate and expand. That’s got to be a good sign. They serve great breakfasts, delicious sandwiches, juices, salads, burgers and pan-Asian cuisine.

    Jalan Umalas 2
Gusto Gelato & Café - This is an absolute must do! The ice cream here is simply delicious. The Italian/French husband and wife team use the freshest ingredients and incorporate local produce such as dragon fruit, mango and guava. They also make a great coffee and bake their own pastries.

Monsieur Spoon – Close your eyes and you’re in Paris. Best croissants on the island. On any island. Hands down. The macaroons and cakes are also spectacular.

    Jalan Bumbak
La Casetta  - With an bona fide Italian chef in the kitchen you know you’re getting the real deal. The homemade pasta is a standout.

Bumak Coffee – If you’re on the search for a really good coffee then look no further than Bumbak Coffee, located directly next door to La Casetta.

Warung Geulis – It doesn’t look like much from the outside but this warung serves absolutely delicious and authentic Indonesian food. Very popular with the expats.

Outback Warung – If you’re craving a touch of Oz and need a steak, this place is for you.

La Jolie – French food in a rice paddy setting. Only in Bali.

La Creperie – Speaking of French…you can grab a delicious savoury or sweet pancake here.

Warung Global – Cheap and hearty Indonesian food. Great for when you don’t feel like venturing out and want home delivery.

Seki Tei Japanese – Fresh and tasty Japanese. Great sushi.
Spoiled Hairdresser – tucked away on Jalan Umalas 2 is Spoiled Hairdresser. Run by a Dutchman this is a very popular spot for a quality snip.

Massage - There are a string of massage and beauty salons in Umalas that are all incredibly reasonably priced and generally very good. Get a traditional Balinese massage at a salon close to your villa and stumble home feeling blissed out.
